Founding Director, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program 

Marian University, in Indianapolis, IN is conducting a search for a founding Director, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This new DPT program will join the medical college and school of nursing as an integral part of the university’s health professions organization. Alder Bowman has been retained to conduct this search.

This is an opportunity to establish a well-funded, and highly supported program within a growing, private, Catholic University with tremendous resources. The school is well funded, investing in people, facilities, and technology; and is trending towards becoming the Midwest’s leading private health sciences university.

The Director reports to the SVP of Health Professions as do the Deans of the Medical and Nursing schools. The Director will hire and lead staff and faculty who will provide a high-quality curriculum to Doctoral students striving to become certified and licensed Physical Therapists.

The Director is the key liaison to administration, faculty, community partners and professional organizations. General responsibilities include

• Performance monitoring
• Student recruitment
• Oversight of academic activities in teaching
• Performance outcomes
• Compliance
• Administration and budgeting oversight
• Strategic planning

Requirements

Successful administrative, teaching, and program accreditation experience. Plus.

• An active PT license
• Doctoral degree or previous CAPTE-granted exemption
• 6+ years full-time, higher education experience in a CAPTE accredited program
• Experience applying CAPTE accreditation standards, compliance, implementation, and reporting
• Strategic planning and implementation
• Record of program growth, high student exam scores and pass rates
• Financial budgeting and stewardship
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
