Faculty Position, Physical Therapy Department, Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Thomas Jefferson University
The Department of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a 12-month core faculty position to join a productive team of senior and junior teacher scholars.
The faculty within the Department of Physical Therapy embrace a culture of academic and clinical excellence through interprofessional education and practice, innovative teaching in the Hamilton Clinical Simulations Center, and integrated experiential learning across the Jefferson Health system. The Department of Physical Therapy consists of 15 full-time faculty, clinical laboratory instructors, and student enrollment of 180 students. The Department of Physical Therapy is an integral part of the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences which also includes the departments of Exercise Science (inclusive of Athletic Training), Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. The College offers a variety of advanced practices certificates and two ABPTRFE accredited residencies in neurologic and orthopedic physical therapy.
The diverse translational and clinical research activities across the Thomas Jefferson University community and Jefferson Health System afford opportunities for collaboration. Currently the faculty are engaged in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, translational, and clinical research, as well as education research inclusive of the scholarship of teaching and learning. The Department features research laboratory spaces with state-of-the-art instrumentation in addition to 10,000 sq. feet of classrooms and teaching laboratories.

Ideal candidates will possess contemporary expertise in neuromuscular and foundational skills along with a board certification clinical specialty. Experience and interest in educational mentorship and student affairs preferred. All candidates with research interests relevant to rehabilitation will be fully considered.
Candidates must have an earned DPT degree or a PT degree with an earned academic doctorate and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to candidates with an academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.) Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Expectations for teaching and service are negotiable relative to level of extramural funding.
