JOB SUMMARY:

Ballinger Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital with inpatient/outpatient physical therapy with a concentration on orthopedics.  Our therapists love to get to know their patients and truly care about their needs. This physical therapist department cares for patients in Ballinger and all of the surrounding towns and even has patients that come from the larger cities because they love the care they get. This is the perfect position for the physical therapist that wants to learn about their patient and then follow their care for an extended period of time.  

Physical Therapist/ Physical Therapist Assistant directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives and programs for the delivery of physical therapy program to patients. The position requires a minimum of bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and familiarity with a variety of fields, concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. It also requires the ability to lead and direct the work of others.

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
2. Licensure, Registry of Certification: Must be licensed by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy and have passed the Physical Therapy National Certification Exam. Must maintain an active Texas License by completing at least 30 hours of continuing education biennially.
3. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require moderate periods of walking and standing. Bending, stooping, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
