Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (ARHS) Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (ARHS) is a small, not-for-profit, rural health system with two acute care hospitals, and one long term care/rehab facility. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the region boasts endless outdoor, recreational, cultural, and educational activities. Nestled in a resort community, the area offers beautiful seasons, one of the best school systems in the state, and is home to Appalachian State University.
