Beaumont Hospitals is a three-hospital, regional health care provider with 1,744 licensed beds, 15,000 employees and 3,000 physicians in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties. In addition to its hospitals, Beaumont operates numerous community-based medical centers, family practice centers, five nursing centers, a research institute, home care services and hospice.
Ninety-one medical and surgical specialties are represented on the Beaumont medical staffs. A major teaching facility, Beaumont has 38 accredited residency and fellowship programs with more than 400 residents and fellows. Beaumont is partnering with Oakland University to establish a medical school. The new school will open in the fall of 2011.
Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak is the third largest Medicare hospital in the nation. It is among U.S. News & World Report’s 2010 “America’s Best Hospitals” in six medical specialties. The 1,061 bed facility is a major academic and referral center with Level 1 trauma status.
Rehabilitation Services at Beaumont With more than 200 highly experienced, specially trained physical, occupational and speech-language therapists, Beaumont provides rehabilitation services to adult and pediatric patients at more than a dozen locations in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties. Areas of particular specialty include: Orthopedic Physical and Occupational Therapy Services; Neurological Rehabilitation; Women’s Health and Specialty Services; and Lymphedema therapy.
