Ohana is an important part of our lives and is a big reason for being here. Active families engaged in sporting activities stay healthy together and remain united in purpose. O`ahu is our family’s home and will always be home for the Elams.
Company History
Founded in 1999, Elam Sports O`ahu PT was the first to offer out-patient in-home physical therapy to O`ahu. The founders of the practice are Reid & Sue Elam, both natives of O`ahu. The Elams wanted to offer physical therapy services to the island communities where the service was limited or non-existent. It is consistent with the Elam's commitment to service - "take it to the people...serve the underserved."
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Elam Sports O`ahu Physical Therapy first introduced out-patient services delivered in a patient's home in 1999...the first to offer this service in the state of Hawai`i. We are the doctor's first choice to provide out-patient mobile physical therapy services to island patients who cannot get to an outpatient clinic. This facilitates a hospital to home transition, easily, with less expense and less stress on the patient and their family members. In other words, we bring the therapy home (literally!). In 2001, Elam Sports O`ahu PT established the first out-patient clinic in the city of Kapolei. There are now five out-patient clinics in Kapolei BUT were the first!
Benefits
We offer bonuses for referrals generated by TEAM members, productivity bonuses for achieving milestones for monthly or quarterly targets, a TEAM Ohana brunch (annual), TEAM Kidnap Day and CEU allowances. Mobile PT's are accorded car allowance, cell phone subsidies and a repair/maintenance stipend. Discounts for services and products offered through the clinic are offered to all TEAM members. There are eight paid holidays during the year in addition to regular paid time-off leave of absences.
