Life-work balance at NIT is achieved through our 'therapist- care' mindset. Company History
NIT has been serving the therapy needs of Iowans for over 30 years. In 1993, NIT was founded by Jean Harrington-Britt, OTR/L to serve the occupational therapy needs of rural Iowans in skilled nursing facilities. The company quickly grew to provide all therapy needs (PT, OT and ST) throughout the northern section of Iowa. As the need for quality therapy care grew, so did NIT. Expansions into outpatient care for kids and adults, growth into Assisted Living and Independent Living including specialized care for patients with cognitive declines continued to broaden NIT's footprint in the state. In 2002, NIT made the bold choice to open a Home Health agency to 'close the loop' in the continuum of care. NIT now provides care to infants through adults, from hospitalization to skilled care, to sub-acute to wellness and maintenance. NIT is truly a full-cycle therapy provider achieving outstanding outcomes for all.
