Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first and largest chiropractic college in the world, includes three campuses: the Davenport Campus in Davenport, Iowa; the West Campus in San Jose, California; and the Florida Campus in Port Orange, Florida. More than 25% of all chiropractors practicing in the US have graduated from Palmer. The Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR) was established in 1995 and is currently the largest and most highly funded research effort in the chiropractic educational community. The PCCR includes faculty and staff on all three Palmer College campuses. Thus far, the PCCR has been awarded $35 million dollars in research grants through the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Department of Defense, including three NIH Center awards. The majority of PCCR research is conducted collaboratively with other academic institutions. Current partners include The University of Iowa Colleges of Medicine and Public Health, The University of Iowa Department of Biomedical Engineering, Hines VA Hospital, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, the University of Alberta, Kansas State University, SUNY at Stony Brook and Thomas Jefferson University. Current multidisciplinary clinical research projects are underway with the University of Iowa CTSA Dental Clinical Research Center, Genesis Family Medical Center and RAND Corporation. The PCCR employs four administrators, ten faculty, seven research fellows, and 21 professional and administrative staff. The Davenport campus research facility is housed in the 25,000 square foot, five-floor building which includes office space, research clinic, and biomechanics and basic science laboratories.
