Looking Forward

Company History
Pediactivity Specialized Children’s Therapy was founded by Sheri Ireland-Berk, a pediatric physical therapist with nearly four decades of clinical experience dedicated to advancing the care of children with complex needs. Throughout her career, Sheri has sought out mentorship, collaboration, and continuing education from leading clinicians in pediatric physical therapy, shaping a practice grounded in both clinical excellence and lifelong learning.
From its inception, Pediactivity was designed to be more than a traditional pediatric clinic. It was built on the belief that meaningful outcomes require a deeper understanding of the whole child—integrating orthopedic, neuromuscular, sensory, and developmental systems into a cohesive plan of care. This approach led to the development of specialized services, including scoliosis management, dynamic serial casting, aquatic therapy, and advanced movement-based interventions.
Central to this philosophy is the recognition that the body functions as an interconnected system. Over time, Sheri’s clinical focus increasingly emphasized the role of the pelvic floor, breathing mechanics, and pressure regulation as foundational elements influencing movement, stability, continence, and overall function. By addressing these core systems, she found that children were better able to regulate, coordinate, and progress across multiple areas of development.
As this integrative approach evolved, a natural and unexpected need emerged. Parents, caregivers, and even grandparents of the children being treated began to recognize similar dysfunctions in themselves and sought guidance and care. In response to this growing demand, Pappus Pelvic Health & Wellness was established.
Pappus expanded the original vision of Pediactivity to serve individuals across the lifespan, providing specialized pelvic health services for both adults and children. The clinic is rooted in the same foundational principles: that optimal function begins with a well-coordinated pressure system, and that the pelvic floor plays a critical role in supporting the body’s interconnected systems.
Today, Pediactivity Specialized Children’s Therapy and Pappus Pelvic Health & Wellness operate side by side, offering a unique, integrated model of care. Together, they reflect a continued commitment to clinical excellence, mentorship, and a holistic understanding of human movement and function. Sheri remains actively engaged in both patient care and professional development, fostering a culture of curiosity, growth, and high-level clinical reasoning among her team.
