Company Profile
Company Overview
Created in 1976 by the Alaska State Legislature, the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC) was originally one of six regional, non-profit educational resource centers authorized to meet the changing educational needs of both urban and rural Alaskans. Without any dedicated funding from the state, the other regional resource centers struggled to stay solvent and eventually closed. SERRC survived – and flourished – by obtaining federal, state, regional, and community grants; expanding its direct student, school and district services; and moving into the adult education field.
Today, SERRC has offices in Anchorage and Juneau, employs some 80 educators and other professionals, and is Alaska’s only educational resource center providing educational services and solutions to school districts and communities throughout the state. Governed by a Board of Directors (comprised of 20 School District Superintendents), SERRC has delivered exemplary services to the state of Alaska for the past thirty years.
