Company History
Our Story
SPEAR was co-founded in 1999 by two friends and grad school classmates, Dan Rootenberg and David Endres. After graduating from PT school and being out in the work force for a few years Dan approached Dave about starting a practice together with the goal of creating a unique patient experience and that is how SPEAR was formed.
One of their memorable moments together occurred during a hurricane when Dave, an expert swimmer and avid surfer influenced a few of their classmates to surf at Gilgo Beach. While the waves were epic that day, SPEAR’s formation almost never occurred. SPEAR began to expand in 2007 and the addition of Ryan Kitzen as VP of Operations has made a tremendous impact on the company which now has five Manhattan locations.
