Company Profile

Company Overview

With over 36,000 co-workers, Mercy has many opportunities for new and experienced clinicians to serve our communities. Providing the highest quality of care is a mark of excellence, but personal and compassionate service is an important part of Mercy’s heritage – a tradition that is still alive today.

Mercy’s clinicians use an electronic health record (EHR) to better coordinate care. Mercy is among less than 4% of the nation’s healthcare organizations to have a comprehensive and integrated EHR.

To provide our patients even greater care, we utilize SafeWatch to monitor critical care patients across four states. Intensivists and nurses in a central command center use video cameras and electronic systems to provide extra support to ICU teams at the patient’s bedside. Mercy is a great place to work, filled with people who have a passion to serve. We welcome RNs, LPNs, surgical technicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, radiologic technologists and all other clinicians to join Mercy in creating a better health care experience for patients and families.

Leader
Mercy provides many opportunities for individuals to serve in leadership. Our leaders come from diverse backgrounds, and that contributes to a positive and dynamic work environment. Mercy has been awarded the Gallup Great Workplace Award, and while all co-workers contribute to a great workplace, our leaders take pride in bringing out the best in co-workers to ultimately serve people. Our leaders serve our ministry with the belief that health care can be better.

Company History

Nearly two centuries ago, a young Irish woman was moved to respond to the suffering and poverty she witnessed around her. Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, devoted her life to ministering to Dublin's poor, sick and uneducated.

The Sisters of Mercy Health System traces its roots to 1871 when the Religious Sisters of Mercy of the St. Louis Province established a 25-bed infirmary for women and children. Over the years, the Sisters of Mercy expanded their health ministry throughout a seven-state area: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

Today, Mercy is a multi-faceted organization that includes hospitals, physician clinics, outpatient facilities, outreach ministries and other health and human services. Our facilities and services are staffed by more than 30,000 co-workers and physicians who are committed to the Mercy mission of compassionate service.
