Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at EdgePT, you will work under the direction of the physical therapist, assisting patients through recovery from complex orthopedic injuries, to post-surgical rehabilitation, to chronic physical impairments.
In this role, you will effectively implement advanced manual therapy by following evidence-based interventions & care plans in our well-equipped facility.You will educate and advise patients, families, and caregivers regarding continuing care post-therapy. You will also communicate effectively with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals for the success of the patient and maintain accurate documentation. Responsibilities:
- Conduct evidence-based therapeutic exercises and intervention plans under the instruction of the physical therapist.
- Assist the physical therapist in the design of evidence-based therapeutic exercises and intervention plans to improve patients’ strength, flexibility, balance, and overall functional abilities in regards to individual patient needs.
- Properly utilize and implement various modalities, equipment, and techniques to aid in patient pain management and recovery in accordance with the treatment plan.
- Maintain meticulous and organized patient records, treatment plan documentation, progress notes, and any modifications made during the course of therapy in compliance with practice standards.
- Communicate effectively with the physical therapist and proactively notify of changes in patient status, progress, and achievements.
- Empower and teach patients and their families through health literacy education, focusing on injury prevention, home exercise programs, pain management techniques, and care plans.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, & nurses, to ensure patient care and safety.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and education in physical therapy techniques, research, and best practices to enhance the quality and standard of care provided.
- Always uphold the highest ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and professional development activities to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
- California State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, required
- CPR certification, required
- Experience with manual therapy/STM/massage therapy, preferred
- Spanish language skills, preferred
