Healthy Consumer Physical Therapy is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant in Lansing, Michigan for a one-patient-per-hour outpatient role.

No double booking. No overlapping appointments. No racing from one patient to the next.

We are an established outpatient clinic serving the Lansing area for over 8 years, with a specialty focus on individuals with complex and chronic conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), chronic pain, central sensitization, dysautonomia, and related conditions.

Many of our patients have not done well in traditional high-volume care models. They are looking for thoughtful, individualized care, strong communication, and a clinician who can meet them where they are.

This role is being added because of continued growth and increasing demand for care. We want to expand access without compromising our one-on-one model.

As a PTA at Healthy Consumer Physical Therapy, you will work closely with the clinic owner and supervising Physical Therapist as part of a coordinated care approach. You will not be responsible for initial evaluations, but you will play a key role in helping patients move forward through exercise progression, pacing strategies, functional movement, patient education, and long-term self-management.

This is not a high-volume environment, and it is not meant to be.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $32-$38/hour
• $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid in installments at 3, 6, and 12 months
• 4-day workweek option available; Wednesday availability required

What You Will Be Doing:

• Provide individualized treatment under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist in accordance with Michigan law
• Implement and appropriately progress established plans of care
• Guide patients through exercise progression, pacing strategies, and functional movement
• Support patients in developing confidence, independence, and long-term self-management
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with the Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and plan adjustments
• Participate in onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development

Requirements

Required:

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Michigan
• Strong interpersonal communication and active listening skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative care model
• Willingness to receive feedback and grow clinically
• Ability to implement and progress established plans of care under PT supervision
• Ability to demonstrate and guide exercises safely and effectively
• Ability to perform manual therapy techniques and assist with therapeutic interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Comfort working with patients who may require a slower, more thoughtful progression

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with chronic pain, hypermobility, EDS/HSD, dysautonomia, neuromuscular rehabilitation, or medically complex patients
• Interest in developing expertise within a specialty population
• Prior outpatient clinical experience

New graduates will be considered if they demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, coachability, clinical reasoning, and a genuine interest in learning this model of care.
